Glass Brothers are now LEAF Marque Certified

Glass Brothers are rounding off a very successful 2021 with the news of our LEAF marque certification. This is a globally recognised standard which officially recognises sustainable farming practises. To be LEAF marque certified, farms must meet rigorous environmental standards.

We began the process by becoming LEAF members and completing the charity’s assessment review, which allows farms to monitor performance, identify strengths and weaknesses and set targets for improvement across the whole farm.

We then set to work implementing LEAF’s Integrated Farm Management. When we were confident we could demonstrate the farm as being LEAF Marque compliant, we sent our application and underwent an inspection. This was successful and we are now the proud holders of LEAF marque certification.

Glass Brothers adds this latest certification to our upgrade earlier this year to BRC Grade AA (we were previously A rated), which shows we have met very high standards for food safety set by the British Retail Consortium. This year, we were also proud to gain Red Tractor status, the well-known worldwide food quality assurance scheme, as well as achieving GlobalG.A.P. certification, an internationally recognised standard for farm production.

We are very proud to not only be creating food which meets high quality and safety standards, but also that we are making our farming practises as environmentally friendly as possible. Our apples come from the trees of this land, so we are passionate about playing our part to protect it.
